Let Us Spread Good News

2 Timothy 4

2 Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.

4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.

6 As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near.

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.

8 And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.

16 The first time I was brought before the judge, no one came with me. Everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them.

17 But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death.

18 Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.

Notice how the verse says to patiently correct, rebuke and encourage your people. It doesnt mention ramming the bible down peoples throats or forcing certain beliefs upon people. Paul knew the stubborness of individuals and perhaps wrote this knowing that calmness is the way. Its all about promoting the peaceful message of Yahuvah, knowing His word and being able to rebuke, or ‘correct’ peoples views on Yahuvahs non-existence. The truth is in the bible, that’s all we need to use to prove our beliefs, we don’t have to attack anyone, put anyone down, just reveal the truth to them. After all, we are in the position of knowing the truth, they most likely haven’t even picked up a bible or perhaps are just misinformed. I know i was once misinformed and people forcing things down my throat just pushed me further away from the truth if i’m honest. So as we readers have the knowledge, lets communicate it in the best way possible, lets encourage others and not give them a reason to be pushed away from Yahuvah.

People may not trust your views, perhaps they’re fearful, perhaps they just don’t want to hear the truth. Maybe they’re so stuck in their ways that they feel like its impossible to change. Let us not judge them as they don’t realise what they’re doing. They’re blind to the truth and its our responsibility to communicate the truth. Focus on spreading the good message, be wise when telling people of their sins to ensure they know that its not all fire and darkness, there is an abundance of light if they choose to follow it. Lets preach the good news, and once their eyes are open, Yahuvah will graciously inform them perhaps through books or through other people they met in their life. People can only tak so much information at a certain time. We want them to change not because we told them they’re going to hell because of their sin [i.e. scare tactics, basis of fear leading to a misunderstanding of Yahuvahs essence, thus perhaps believing to avoid ill consequences] rather we want them to change because of the character of Yahuvah, because of all he has done for mankind [and on this basis they will desire to do nothing but his will and thus will avoid sin to please him].
